[. day 10 .]

lying on the floor of my family room is the construction of a photomosaic puzzle of more than 1,000 pieces. it was a bday gift given to me from a bunch of very very cool people who knows how to have fun! =)

i haven't played with puzzles in what feels like decades. all my childhood puzzles are stored away in one of the basement closets. this new puzzle experience has been nothing but Good. ^_^

it was opened by one of the gift givers and the first thing that was done was sorting the pieces. she found all the edge pieces to build the frame and i sorted the rest of them by their colour. the frame was built within the first 3 days and afterwards, more pieces were placed onto their designated spots.

the puzzle is still being put together and i couldn't believe how much fun i'm having. it gets really frustrating when you have chosen to search for a piece but it's still not found after a long search. but when you find the correct one, the feeling of joy, relief and satisfaction is uncontainable.

this activity forces you to take your time to look at all the different parts. each part is special and unique. as for photomosaic puzzles, each piece has it's own picture on it. it enhances recognition and recall, and teaches you to appreciate and acknowledge the different parts.

the best thing i like about this activity is that it's for anyone and everyone! (okay... perhaps not infants and toddlers ... cuz they will do other funny things to it) but it has definitely been amazing to watch the many different hands that helped with this activity on different days, at different times, for different durations - gift giver, friends, sister, aunt, dad, bf, and myself.

i wonder how many more days it will take for it to be complete!?!?
i can't wait to put in into the picture frame and hang it up!!!! yayaya!
though, my greatest fear is having a missing piece or pieces =( oh boy, we will see.

side note: i love the disney classic movies... but man... those animators were sure having their own type of fun
