2 more stories to share...
[1] funneral follow-up
--> i arrived approximately 2hrs before the actual start of the service at 10:30am... i wanted to practice on my own n to become comfortable with the different set-up and atmosphere in the sanctuary.
when the other donkeys arrived, we ran thru the songs twice or three times... i had trouble repressing my emotions so towards the end of the 1st run-thru, i choked on quite a few phrases... the 2nd time was better.
finally, it was the actual presentation of the hymn for the funneral service. i walked up to the microphone, introduced the song, the music began to fill the sanctuary n i sang... n it was good =)
i really don't know how else to explain it except that "it was good"... certainly i trembled on some words, n didn't sustain the last note as i hoped to...but i didn't stop singing to cry... i was compelled to stay strong n share the hope i have found from "On Eagle's Wings"
so did ppl understand the message i tried to convey? did they find the Eagle n take the flight? i guess this remains a mystery for me cuz i can't go n ask everyone, "did u fly with the Eagle?" =) tho a few ppl talked to me afterwards (both on sat n sun)... some complimented on the voice i had... n others shared how they were moved n strengthened by this song and i am extremely grateful & encouraged to hear them say that.
[to The Talking Donkeys (both on n off stage) n our church's English Minister, Rev. Ron, Thank You for the support u have given me - either thru a smile, a joke, a prayer, one or two words or a few sentences, ur patience, ur presence... - u were a part of the pillar of strength w/God alongside that held me up thru this challenge.
okay no more babbling about the singer... onto the other musicians... u guys did a fantastic job playing on ur individual instruments =) *thumbs-up* thanks for ur music n the teamwork we had! Blessings~]
and it is finished. (or is it just the beginning? ^-^)
